The Biggar Gin Co.
The Biggar Gin Company was established in 2018 by brothers Euan and Stuart McVicar. Based in the Tinto Hills near the small market town of Biggar in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, Euan and Stuart opened their own distillery in 2021 and offer tours and tastings. After launching their original Biggar Gin, which features locally sourced rosehip, rowanberry and nettles, the Biggar Gin range has now grown to include their 57% ABV Biggar Strength Gin, Cask Aged Gin, Herbaceous Gin, Old Tom Gin, and seasonal Clyde Valley Plum Gin.

Biggar Gin (43% ABV)

  • ​Botanicals: Including juniper, coriander seeds, cardamom, cassia bark, orris root, orange, rosehip, rowan berries, nettles, pink peppercorn, lavender. Base Spirit: Grain.
  • Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange Peel, or in a Martini or White Lady.
  • ​Tasting Notes: Aromas of orange and juniper, ​with herbaceous undertones. Citrusy and herbaceous on the palate with subtle sweetness and spice. A long and complex finish with spice, floral and earthy notes.
 
The Gin Guide Review: Biggar Gin combines a heart of juniper, citrus and herbaceous characters with gentle woody spice and sweet notes, together with an enjoyably smooth mouthfeel. The outcome is a flavoursome and moreish London Dry Gin with complexity and impressive balance between sweet and savoury, freshness and spice, florals and woodiness.
