Casa Staibano

Casa Staibano spirits company was founded by Cesco Amodio in 2015, inspired by his charismatic Great-Grandfather, Don Vincenzo Staibano, who owned lemon groves on the Amalfi Coast and started making sweet liqueurs and spirits in the 1930s. Positano Gin is based on a recipe created by Don Vincenzo in the 1950s for his wife, Lucia, who was born in Positano and requested a stronger, less sweet concoction.

Tasting Notes: Vibrant aromas of zesty lemon and juniper. Bold and oily Amalfi lemons on the palate, underpinned with woody juniper and herbaceous rosemary.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with garnish of Basil and/or Lemon Peel, or in a Martini or Tom Collins.

You're greated with a wonderfully bold aroma of lemons - the distinctive character of Amalfi lemons rather than being sweet or artificially bright. On the palate it is instantly flavoursome and awash with refreshing, oily lemony notes that are reminiscent of Limoncello (but of course without the sweetness or heaviness here) and underpinned with rosemary and juniper. "Don Vincenzo Staibano was a stylish and charismatic playboy from Amalfi, known to many as “Il Gaga”. As well as tending to his vast amount of lemon groves, he was a master at creating liqueurs and spirits which he started producing back in the 1930s.
