Crafty Distillery
Crafty Distillery in Scotland is a 'grain to glass' distillery, meaning they are one of just a handful of British distilleries to produce their own base spirit - a process which takes an additional 10 - 12 days and uses local wheat. Founded by Graham Taylor in 2017, the distillery is surrounded by forests and unspoilt coastlines and was custom built by Graham's father Billy. With the distillery having becoming a popular attraction, it now welcomes over 20,000 visitors per year. Their flagship gin, Hills & Harbour Gin, aims to ensure all five basic tastes are hit, with elements of sweet (mango), sour (orange), bitter (Noble Fir), salt & umami (seaweed).  

Hills & Harbour Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 11 including juniper, pine needles, coriander seeds, angelica root, orris root, liquorice, orange peel, green sichuan pepper seeds, bay leaf, mango, bladderwrack seaweed​​. Base Spirit: Wheat (made in-house).
  • Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Grapefruit or Mango, or in a Negroni.
  • ​Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, green herbaceous notes, fruity citrus and sea air. Piney juniper, citrus and exotic fruit on the palate with subtle salinity and spice. A clean and complex finish with pepper, spice and savoury notes.
