Opened in 2021 in Derbyshire, Dancing Anchor Spirits was founded by accountant Amy Gillatt and distiller and brewer David Hemstock. The distillery's name was inspired by the founders' links with the islands of the UK, Cayman Islands and Sardinia - hence the anchor logo - and by their love of dance music. Dancing Anchor Spirits uses a range of botanicals, with some grown in the distillery's cottage garden and medieval herb garden and others sourced from overseas.
