Devon Coast Distillery
Launched in 2019 by Andrew Penrose and Matthew Collins at the New Quay Inn in Brixham, Devon Coast Distillery began life in the basement of the cottage next to the pub before moving to larger premises in 2020 and installing a 100 litre iStill. The distillery's Deck Chair Gin is inspired by its coastal location and pays tribute to the 1920s popularity of traditional English holiday resort towns on the 'English Riviera'. Since launching Deck Chair Gin, Devon Coast Distillery have also released their Fruit Infusions gin range and Riviera Rum.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of bright and zesty orange, cardamom and hints of anise. On the palate, juniper, aromatic cardamom and orange citrus. A lingering finish of bittersweet orange peel and gently herbal juniper.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a granish of Ruby Grapefruit or Lemon.
The Gin Guide Review: Deck Chair Gin is a traditional and light gin with well-balanced juniper, cardamom and orange peel, both on the nose and the palate to match, with hints of liquorice root and the citrussy warmth of coriander seeds emerging in the finish. With Tonic Water, the piney character of the juniper and the orange notes are elevated for a classic and classy G&T with earthy undertones balancing with the orange citrus. - Paul Jackson, 2022

"Deck Chair Gin was born at the New Quay Inn in Brixham. We bought the harbourside Grade 2 listed Free House in 2013 and spent a year renovating it before opening the doors in November 2014. As lovers of Real Ale and Gin, and with an urge to become more creative, an idea developed to evolve the business into a brew pub or distillery.
