Craft Link Distillery
Located in the heart of Johannesburg, Craft Link Distillery was launched in 2016 by Albert van Wyk and Matt van Wyk. The distillery produces several of their own gin brands, including Ginologist, Cullinan, Hayward's and Kaleido, as well as having a significant focus on contract distilling for other spirits brands.

Ginologist Citrus Gin

  • ​ABV: 43% (Base Spirit: Sugar Cane).
  • Botanicals: Including juniper, lime , grapefruit, lemon, lemon peel.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of fresh citrus, with lime and grapefruit. Clean and crisp citrus at the forefront on the palate, with lime and grapefruit lingering through the refreshing finish.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel or Grapefruit, or in a Martini, Negroni or Gin Fizz.

Ginologist Floral Gin

  • ​ABV: 43% (Base Spirit: Sugar Cane).
  • Botanicals: Including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, lemon peel, orange blossom, rose geranium.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of rose geranium and orange bloosom. Contemporary and floral on the palate with rose geranium prominent and lingering, underpinned by orange blossom.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel, or in a French 75, Martini or Gin Fizz.

  • ​ABV: 43% (Base Spirit: Sugar Cane).
  • Botanicals: Including juniper,grains of paradise, cassia bark, cardamom, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, pink pepper, black pepper, grapefruit peel, orange peel, rooibos, honeybush.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper and fennel with notes of orange and honeybush. Warming and dry spices with notes of fennel, rooibos and honeybush.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange Peel or Grapefruit Peel, or in a Negroni.

Meet the Makers

"As gin lovers we often found ourselves debating the merits (and demerits) of the gins we tried and our collective curiosity led us to try uncover more about this wonderful drink. The more we uncovered the more interested we became until we came to the realisation that we simply had to apply all this knowledge in a direct and meaningful way by making our own gin. Our second and even more profound realisation was that we didn’t simply want to make a few bottles for our own consumption. We wanted to share our vision of everything a good gin embodies with South Africa."
