Harz Distillers
Harz Distillers was established in 2020 in the Harz highland area of North Germany, and their flagship gin, Hartingowe Dry Gin was launched the same year before the launches of gin liqueurs and limited edition gins. The Hartingowe Gin name derives from the historic name for the Harz region, meaning "The Districts of Harting", and 'Harting' in turn derives from the High German form 'Hardt' or 'Hart' which is an expression for a mountain forest or a wooded mountain range.

Hartingowe Dry Gin (47% ABV)

  • ​Botanicals: 20 including juniper, coriander seeds, cubebs, allspice, cloves, calamus, cistus, orange, lemon, spruce shoots.
  • Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lime or Lemon, or in a Martini, Negroni or Gin Fizz.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of warming spice and brighter citrus and pine. Juniper, winter spice and citrus combine on the palate with a subtle floral note. A finish of spice, peppery notes and lingering floral notes.​
The Gin Guide Review: Hartingowe Dry Gin very effectively combines the contrasting flavours of warming spices and bright citrus, achieving a pleasing balance with plentiful depth and a floral undertone. The spice shows great variety across the flavour journey, from wintery cloves and allspice to mellow cardamom, fiery ginger and peppery cubebs. At 47% ABV it is a higher proof gin but the alcohol is well integrated with the botanicals, and when mixed with Tonic Water the spices form a hearty core of flavour while the floral notes in particular are elevated. - Paul Jackson, 2022

"Before we give our gin its well-deserved rest to mature, the valuable ingredients must of course first be distilled after maceration and percolation. For this purpose, we have a Carter head still, designed by ourselves and perfectly matched to the distillation of Gin.
