Hensol Castle Distillery
Hensol Castle Distillery in South Wales began producing spirits in 2018 before opening their visitor experience, gin school and bottling plant in 2021, all within the cellars of the Grade 1 Listed Hensol Castle, built in the 17th Century. As well as their Signature Welsh Gin, their range has grown to include their Wild Strawberry & Hibiscus Gin, Blood Orange Gin, and Black Gin made with Muscat grapes, black cherries and blackberries.

The Gin Guide Review: Hensol Castle Gin combines a classic core of botanicals with citrus peel notes, a soft medley of florals, and earthy undertones. The floral notes are skilfully balanced with the juniper and citrus, not falling into the common traps of becoming too perfumed or soapy, while grain of paradise and coriander seeds bring in the finish with a touch of pepperiness and gentle spice. With Tonic Water, piney juniper is elevated, the florals remain present but delicate alongside the citrus, delivering a light and vibrant G&T which brings to mind a garden in summer. - Paul Jackson, 2022
