Lizard Dragon Distillers
|
Lizard Dragon Distillers was launched in Perth in 2022 by a team previously experienced in operating hotels in Western Australia. With their first launch, Old Man Saltbush Gin, and subsequent launches of Desert Rose Gin, Ellery Gin, and Utopia Gin, the focus is on native botanicals and working with local Indigenous landowners and communities to harvest native botanicals. The artworks on each bottle are designed to showcase Aboriginal art, with each design being purchased from Indigenous artists from Central Australia, while shareholder Rayleen Brown of 'Kungkas Can Cook' is leading a drive to develop the use of native botanicals in Australian restaurant menus. The distillery in the northern Perth suburb of Clarkson is home to a 500L Still Dragon still, operated by Master Distiller Tim Harrison, and is open regularly for sales and gin tastings.

Meet the Makers
"It’s a natural progression, from operating hotels in Western Australia to expanding into our Perth Distillery. We couldn’t find a gin that really jumped out as a taste of Australia, so we decided to create Lizard Dragon Distillers with a focus on native botanicals and engaging local Indigenous landowners and communities to harvest local botanicals to create a flavour unique to Australia." - Geoff Booth, Co-Founder
