Malamo
Malamo Gin was launched in 2023 and is produced with Georgian neutral grain spirit and 13 botanicals, 10 of which are sourced locally in Georgia. The name 'Malamo' means 'ointment' in Georgian and the brand is inspired by pharmaceutical design. With medicine style bottles, the artwork on the label depicts Medea, a sorceress and herbalist in Greek mythology who was from the ancient Georgian kingdom of Colchis and whose name is the origin on the word 'medicine'. The Malamo Gin team are now progressing with plans to establish their own distillery.

Meet the Makers
"The recipe uses Georgian-produced wheat neutral spirit, Macedonian juniper, Indian liquorice root, Belgian angelica root and 10 other botanicals sourced locally in Georgia. The distillation process starts with macerating the ingredients in diluted GNS before the macerate is distilled and then RO-filtered water is added to the distillate for resting. After resting, the product is diluted to its bottling strength and bottled. The whole process takes around 1 month and is performed entirely in Georgia." - Beka Gujejiani, Kote Gunia & Giorgi Korsantia, Founders
