Volcanic Drinks
​Launched in 2015, Old Islandia Gin was created by Master Distiller Ragnar Tryggvason who has been distilling spirits in Iceland and Russia since 1953 originally developed the recipe 30 years ago. Made with pure Icelandic water, Old Islandia is distilled in a pot still and bottled at the Volcanic Drinks Distillery in the port town of Hafnafjörður near Reykjavik. The bottle label depicts the oldest existing map of Iceland and this is the inspiration for the Old Islandia name and brand.

Aromas of juniper, earthy roots ​and spice. ​Dry and earthy on the palate with juniper, citrus and gingery spice. A dry, lingering finish with juniper and hints of liquorice.
​Serving / Garnish Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lemon Peel, with Ginger Ale, or in a Gin-Gin Mule or Basil Gimlet.
The Gin Guide Review: Old Islandia Gin is a traditional style gin with classic gin botanicals at the forefront. Aromas are light with juniper, earthy roots and spice coming through. This character continues on the palate with the addition of citrus peels, ginger and a hint of liquorice. It's an enjoyable and old fashioned gin that doesn't aim to break the mold or cause a stir, and it's all the better for it.
