Old Islandia Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
About Old Islandia Gin
Launched in 2010, Old Islandia Gin was created by Master Distiller Ragnar Tryggvason who has been distilling spirits in Iceland and Russia since 1953. Made with pure Icelandic water, Old Islandia is distilled in a pot still and bottled at the Volcanic Drinks Distillery in Reykjavik. The Gin Guide Review Old Islandia Gin is a traditional style gin with classic gin botanicals at the forefront. Aromas are light with juniper, earthy roots and spice coming through. This character continues on the palate with the addition of citrus peels, ginger and a hint of liquorice. It's an enjoyable and old fashioned gin that doesn't aim to break the mold or cause a stir, and it's all the better for it. It's a very sound choice for a G&T with a garnish of lemon peel, or served with ginger ale. - Paul Jackson, 2019 |

MEET THE MAKER"The gin is continuously distilled 7 times and blended with natural Icelandic water, which gives it the purity and unique taste. The main botanical is juniper berries and the end result in our mind is a smooth, tasty gin."
