The Gin Guide Review
Pitwheel Gin is flavoursome and characterful, with plentiful depth that demonstrates the subtleties of flavour achieved through Pitwheel Distillery's vapour infusion distillation. The gin is aromatic on the nose with juniper, citrus, floral hibiscus and warming peppery notes of grains of paradise, and on the palate there is piney juniper and a classic core of earthy botanicals. This core is layered with lemony citrus and also the floral hibiscus notes which are well-balanced and delicately add to the complexity. The finish is lingering and dry with zesty citrus, light florals and peppery spice, and with the addition of ice some of the brighter citrus notes are elevated. With tonic water, the piney and floral notes are pleasingly fragrant and it makes for a moreish G&T with charming light and bright notes developing further. Citrus fruits and peels make for ideal G&T garnish starting points with Pitwheel Gin. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |

Founders, Derrick & Charlotte
"Derrick had been experimenting with gin flavours for a couple of years - ever since it had become increasingly popular on the drinks scene, people just couldn't get enough of it - including us! And that's when the light-bulb moment happened and PitWheel Distillery was born." |
