Ruddy Fine Distillery
​​Launched in 2019 by Cheryl Stretton and Rory Thorpe, Ruddy Fine Distillery is located in the Nottinghamshire village of Ruddington. Garden designer Cheryl and events organiser Rory expanded their operations at Ruddy Fine Distillery after their other businesses were forced to scale down by the covid-19 pandemic. Ruddy Fine Gins are distilled in batches of 350 bottles and each shows a map of Ruddington with 'X' marking the location of the Cheryl and Rory's home where the gins were developed.

Ruddy Fine London Dry Gin (42% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 11 including juniper, orange, cloves, cassia bark, liquorice root, lemongrass. Base Spirit: Grain.
  • Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange or Ginger, or in a Negroni or White Lady.
  • ​Tasting Notes: Aromatic with juniper, cloves, orange and lemongrass. On the palate, juniper, coriander seeds, orange citrus and lemongrass. A lingering and earthy finish of cloves, cassia bark and liquorice.​​
The Gin Guide Review: Ruddy Fine London Dry Gin is a dry and characterful gin that combines a traditional core of gin botanicals with bright orange citrus, lemongrass, and earthy, warm botanicals that deliver notes of aromatic spice and winter spice. When neat, there is an Asian influence from plentiful lemongrass and a finish of cloves and cassia bark that meets with the classic botanicals and juicy orange notes. With Tonic Water, pine, orange and lemongrass are elevated for a more citrussy character while the spice softens and brings depth and complexity, delivering a G&T that would also pair perfectly with Southeast Asian food. - Paul Jackson, 2022
