Seven Hills Distillery
Founded in 2020 by Dénes Mészáros-Komáromy and located alongside the banks of the Bodrog River, Seven Hills Distillery is based in a renovated farmhouse in the Tokaj wine region of Northern Hungary. The distillery's debut spirit, Tokaj Gin, was launched the same year and is named after this region as well as featuring local grapes in its recipe. In addition to producing Tokaj Gin, the Seven Hills Distillery team are also preparing Aged Gins and both malt and rye whiskies for future launch.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of pine, peppercorns, pink grapefruit, honey and mint. Piney juniper on the palate with warming spice, delicate elderflower and subtly sweet honey. Pepperiness leads into an enduring herbal finiish with light floral notes.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Dried Blackcurrant and/or Pink Grapefruit, or in a Martini or Negroni.
The Gin Guide Review: Tokaj Gin not only has a sense of place and impresses from nose to finish. The aromas are complex, have depth, and are vibrant and enticing. The juniper on the palate is robust and resinous, the balance of peppercorn and cubeb spice with the delicate elderflower and gentle honey sweetness is exemplary, and there is further journey of flavour as herbal mint develops in the finish. The mouthfeel is very smooth for the ABV too - there's warmth but not a hint of burn. When mixed with Tonic Water, the peppery notes settle and continue to give depth, while elderflower and pink grapefruit notes are elevated around a very classic core.
