Three Bees Honey Spirits (Market Harborough Honey Co.)

Three Bees Gin was launched in 2023 by Market Harborough Honey Company in Leicestershire, alongside two vodkas and a spiced rum. With MHHC keeping over three million bees and producing thousands of jars of honey per year, and with founder Tom Lamble-Dun being friends with a respected industry expert with their own distillery, it was a natural progression to begin infusing spirits with their honey. The brand name 'Three Bees' was inspired by how MHHC began with three bee hives, and in each of those hives there are three different types of honey bee - the Queen, the female worker bees, and the male drones.

  • Botanicals: 11 including juniper, coriander seeds, orange, lemon, cassia bark, Szechuan pepper, pink pepper and all spice, plus honey. Base Spirit: Wheat.

TGG Tasting Notes: Aromas of floral honey and citrus. Honey, juniper, orange and lemon on the palate. A finish of honey, vibrant peppery spice, and lingering citrus.

The Gin Guide Review: Three Bees Gin is a honey-focused gin that neatly delivers a core of traditional gin character while showcasing Market Harborough Honey Co's honey as the star of the show. The colour of the gin demonstrates the infusion of the honey while the aromas are pleasingly balanced with hints of juniper, citrus and underlying spice. Honey takes the limelight on the palate alongside cameos of citrus, without becoming heavy or overly sweet as plentiful zingy Szechuan pepper emerges and builds through the finish.
