Wharf Distillery
|
Wharf Distillery in Northamptonshire was set up in 2011 by former cider-maker Laurence Conisbee. The distillery was originally established to produce apple brandy from cider made with local apples, pressed on Galleon Wharf alongside the Grand Union Canal, and in 2014 they laid down their first cask for whisky as well as brandy using wine from a local vineyard. Wharf Distillery's gin production began in 2017 and now boasts a range of 6 gins - 3 under the Wharf Distillery name and 3 under the 'New Town' brand which pays homage to their roots in Milton Keynes - as well as offering contract distilling services so a wide range of spirits brands.

Meet the Maker
"We didn’t start making gin until 2017 when we decided to stop making cider and focus on distilling. Safine Drenc was our first gin and was influenced by a combination of my spiritual home of Norfolk, England and the Saxons. Our subsequent gins take inspiration from the botanicals that grow in specific areas around the distillery and our home in Northamptonshire." - Laurence Conisbee, Founder & Distiller
