Wicstun Distillery
Launched in 2022 by husband and wife, Jago and Lisa Packer, Wicstun Distillery is based in Market Weighton in East Yorkshire. Building on Jago's long-term hobby of home brewing and passion for visiting distilleries, they launched their distillery after 18 months of planning and recipe development and it is now home to three 25 lire T500 stills with copper domes and condensors. The Wicstun Distillery product range, with its name inspired by the old Saxon name for Market Weighton, includes dry gins, flavoured gins, flavoured vodkas and flavoured Caribbean rums.

Wicstun Aromatic Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 5 botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, cardamom, orange peel. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Orange or Lemon, or in a Negroni.
  • Tasting Notes: Fragrant aromas of cardamom and citrus. Warm and zesty on the palate with cardamom spice and refreshing orange citrus.

Meet the Makers

Our story starts in 1984 when I started home brewing in my dormitory while at boarding school in Scarborough. This sparked a passion for home brewing which has continued throughout my life with everything from cider to beer, wine to mead. As our children became adults, they started to show an interest in my home-brewing antics, which led to the question, "why don't we try to make spirits?". After a lot of research, planning and testing, the first Wicstun Gin was born, and our after licencing and registering as a distillery, our hobby naturally turned into a business in 2022. - Jago Packer, Founder
