No. 186 Distillery
No. 186 Gin was launched in 2019 by husband and wife, Matt and Lynsey Postlethwaite, who are based in Lytham St Annes and are the co-founders of 'One Eight Six' bar in Manchester. No. 186 Gin was initially distilled at Brindle Distillery in Lancashire before Matt and Lynsey began distilling at their Head Office in Lytham St Annes in 2021 and also at 'One Eight Six' in 2023. No. 186 Signature Gin was the debut launch alongside their Berries & Honey Gin, and 2022 saw the launch of their Passionfruit & Vanilla Gin and their Wonky Duck Gin in collaboration with Coronation Street.

No. 186 Signature Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 10 including juniper, cassia, cardamom, rosemary, thyme, grapefruit, lemon, lime. Base Spirit: Grain​
  • Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Pink Grapefruit, Lemon or Lime, or in a Negroni or Gimlet.
  • ​Tasting Notes: Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, herbaceous rosemary and cardamom. On the palate, juniper, lemon, lime and grapefruit, with herb and spice undertones. A finish of savoury rosemary, thyme and cassia, with citrus notes.
The Gin Guide Review: No.186 Gin is flavoursome and smooth, balancing juniper, citrus, herbaceous notes and soft spice. On the palate it delivers a combination of tangy and sweet citrus from grapefruit, lemon and lime, with juniper and base notes of rosemary and spice. Moving into the dry finish, more soft spice develops with cardamom and cassia, while citrus notes, rosemary and thyme linger. With tonic, it is beautifully fragrant as the brighter citrus aromas are elevated, and on the palate the pleasing balance of citrus, herbaceous notes and soft spice continues. ​- Paul Jackson, 2020
