Berkshire Botanical Gin
|
Launched in 2019, Berkshire Botanical Dry Gin was originally established in 2019 by Johnny Neill (founder of Whitley Neill Gin and Marylebone Gin) on the 9,000 acre Yattendon Estate in West Berkshire - the largest grower of Christmas trees in the UK. Initially distilled in a 200L copper pot still in the Royal Oak Pub & Hotel in Yattendon, a dedicated distillery was setup for Berkshire Botanical Gin in 2021 with a 500L still. At the end of 2024, Johnny Neill sold his remaining stake in Berkshire Botanical Gin to Halewood Spirits and production has since been moved to their Aber Falls Distillery in Wales, with their now extensive range of gins including a Navy Strength Gin, Morello Cherry Gin, Rhubarb & Raspberry Gin, Sloe Gin, and more.

Berkshire Botanical Dry Gin (40.3% ABV)
The Gin Guide Review: Berkshire Botanical Dry Gin achieves the skilful balance of carrying depth of flavour while also presenting a smooth, light and crisp mouthfeel. When neat the aromas are enticing with a wealth of vibrant, bright citrus alongside piney juniper. On the palate it is zingy and zesty with citrus, again combining with piney juniper and underlying earthiness. Peppery spice builds into the clean finish as bittersweet citrus lingers. It's a gin that's asking to made into a Martini. With the addition of Tonic Water it's the plentiful pine notes that flourish and come to the fore, making citrus garnishes an ideal choice. - Paul Jackson, 2020

Meet the Maker
"The inspiration behind this gin is the countryside in the area where I live. When we started looking to move out of London several years ago we visited Yattendon and absolutely fell in love with the area. We moved to Frilsham on the Yattendon Estate initially and we’ve been in the area ever since." - Founder, Johnny Neill
