Monkey 47 Gin Review & Tasting Notes
About Monkey 47 Schwarzwald Dry Gin
Monkey 47 Gin founder Alex Stein discovered this story and was inspired to create a new gin, even using records of the original recipe as inspiration, such as including lingonberries, cranberries and spruce shoots amongst the botanicals. |
The Gin Guide Review
With 47 botanicals you could be excused for thinking that the individual flavours wouldn't stand up for themselves or make a satisfying whole, but what a triumph this gin is. Every time you try it you'll pick up new flavour notes and aromas, from berry fruits and citrus to floral and herbal characteristics. It's complex and vibrant and not a traditional gin, and at £35 - £40 it is perhaps not an everyday gin, but you will be missing out if you never get to try it. Garnish with lime or sage. - Paul Jackson, 2016 |
