Buckinghamshire Gin Reviews - A to Z
Griffiths Brothers Gin
Griffiths Brothers Gin is the creation of brothers Alex and Drew Griffiths, and was launched in 2017. Their distillery is based in Penn Street, near Amersham in Buckinghamshire, and is in an unit that is part of a former factory that made Mosquito planes in WW2. The gin is cold distilled in-house using a rotary evaporator (named Roberta), with each botanical being distilled at a low temperature, rather than being heated in the style of traditional distilling. Griffiths Brothers Gin features 13 botanicals, including bay laurel, barberries, orange blossom and elderflower.

Marlow Gin
Launched in 2019, Marlow Distillery was set up by friends, Nick and Colin, who are colleagues in the technology industry and wanted to create a gin in and for their home town of Marlow. It took a year to set up the distillery and hone the recipe for their signature gin which is made in their still called Matilda, named after Queen Matilda, who was gifted the manor of Marlow by her husband, William the Conqueror.

Old Amersham Gin
Old Amersham Gin began as a hobby for founder Daniella Ashfield and her late father, David, who owned the historic Kings Arms Hotel, The Crown and Kings Chapel in Old Amersham. Driven by their own love of gin and serving G&Ts at their pubs, the duo began growing ingredients in the pub's garden and using them to experiment with recipes for their own gin, before partnering with the locally-based British Honey Company to produce their gin.
