Cascave Gin

Cascave Gin was launched in 2022 by mother, Julie, and daughters, Heidi and Naomi Davies, aiming to capture the essence of the Brecon Beacons landscape. Their gin is distilled at Hensol Distillery in South Wales with citrus peels and local Brecon bilberries and sunflower root, before the addition of water collected from an underground source in the Dan Yr Ogof Caves. Believed to be a first, Cascave's Cave Aged edition is rested in Port Casks in the Dan Yr Ogof Caves for 180 days at a consistent 10°C. Visitors to Dan Yr Ogof can see the barrels within the caves from Spring to late Summer.

Cascave Premium Dry Gin (43% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 11 botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, sunflower root, meadowsweet, sweet orange peel, grapefruit peel, lemon peel, bilberry. Base Spirit: Grain.
  • Serving Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Grapefruit and/or Rosemary, or in a Negroni.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of rich and fruity citrus, juniper and earthy root notes. Palate: Mixed citrus peels, hints of tangy bilberry, and underlying earthy roots. An earthy finish with coriander seeds, meadowsweet and lingering citrus.
The Gin Guide Review: Cascave Gin is a characterful and layered gin. Rich and fruity mixed citrus plays a key role throughout, with grapefruit standing out on the nose and with orange and lemon being prominent on the palate. Meanwhile, a deep core of classic, earthy and rooty botanicals give depth and form the base layer, bilberry adds a tangy berry note, and meadowsweet brings a subtle floral touch.   • A limited edition created by ageing Cascave Premium Dry Gin for 6 months in port barrels in the cool conditions of Dan Yr Ogof Cave in Wales, gaining hints of vanilla and red fruits from the casks. Serve on ice or with Tonic Water and a citrus garnish.

  • Inspired by the storms that rumble across Wales, Cascave Stormy Gin aims to deliver deep, dark notes of liquorice root, wild sunflower root and pink peppercorns, alongside light, bright notes of orange, lemon and grapefruit.
