Elephant Gin is pleased to announce the launch of its newest creation, the new Orange Cocoa edition (RRP £31 per 500ml bottle; 40% ABV) an ode to their all-time favourite Easter flavours – orange and chocolate!
Inspired by the African sundowner experience, Elephant Gin combines rare African botanicals to create award-winning handcrafted premium gins that give back to African elephant conservation.
Elephant Gin took their award-winning London Dry Gin and combined it with fresh, organic Spanish oranges and roasted cocoa beans to create a bright, zesty and velvety flavour profile. Handcrafted with the highest quality production standards, each batch of London Dry Gin is distilled using fourteen botanicals, including rare African ingredients, to create its distinctive flavour profile. Since the aroma, taste and texture of a fresh orange contains much more body than orange peel alone, Elephant Gin has gone the extra mile by vacuum distilling the whole orange to create an intensely aromatic distillate that adds an extra kick of freshness and complexity.
To taste, the botanical and herbaceous notes of Elephant Gin give the Orange Cocoa edition its full-flavoured base; the organic orange and cocoa beans add a highly aromatic character and a rare freshness; the zesty and sweet citrusy notes of the orange also combine with the dry, velvety and chocolatey flavours of the cocoa bean to create a textured and bright gin that works well in a G&T and Dry Martini (served with rosemary and a twist of orange) as part of carefully balanced cocktails (such as the ‘Maasai Man’, muddled sorrel leaves with Orange Cocoa gin, strained over ice and topped with cold brew coffee).
The elegant glass bottles are custom-made; decorated with traditional Maasai beads, handcrafted by three women from the Kenyan Maasai tribe; adorned with handwritten labels (the Elephant Orange Cocoa Gin label echoes the vibrant colours of a fresh orange); embossed with a crest and sealed with natural cork. As with all Elephant Gin products, the gin contains no artificial sweeteners or colours.
Elephant Gin Founders, Tessa and Robin Gerlach, were inspired to create their range of premium gins following their adventures in Africa. They strongly believe that this generation has a responsibility to protect the future of African wildlife. As with the entire range, 15% of the profits from every bottle of Elephant Orange Cocoa Gin sold will be donated to African elephant conservation in an effort to support the preservation of African wildlife and their magnificent habitat.
