NFTs launched for Jarrold's Gin Limited Editions

The Nodding Donkey Distillery Company in Chichester has announced plans to launch 18 exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Each comes with one of the first bottles of Jarrold’s Gin ever produced by the distillery.

The Nodding Donkey Distillery to launch NFTs for limited-edition gin

The Nodding Donkey Distillery Company, a bespoke Chichester-based gin supplier, has announced plans to launch 18 exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) this autumn. Each comes with one of the first bottles of Jarrold’s Gin ever produced by the distillery, giving customers the unique opportunity to own a piece of what could be the most valuable gin collection in the world.

“We’ve always believed the gin business could have more potential than just a good G&T. So, when production first started, we set aside the first six bottles of each of our three gins with a longer-term view that at some point these first edition bottles would be collectors’ items.” Jamie Jarrold, co-creator of Jarrold’s London Dry Gin. 

Collection: 001 details: 

• Each NFT represents ownership of both physical and digital bottle of London Dry, Limited Edition Sloe, or Sloe Gin. 
• Purchase of the NFT will release unlockable content to the owner containing details on how to redeem the physical bottle, which can be done at a time of the owner's choosing.
• The bottle will be delivered in a bespoke, handcrafted box with the batch and bottle number engraved in 24 carat gold.
• A unique QR code will be generated and added to the bottle and box which links the user to the transaction history of the NFT when scanned, proving the authenticity of the bottle in the collection and allowing it to be traceable through blockchain technology.
• NFTs in the collection range from 40ETH - 100ETH (approximately $51k - $131k USD).

A family-run business based in Chichester, UK, The Nodding Donkey Distillery Company produces three gins; a classic London dry gin, a seasonal sloe gin, and a sloe gin produced all year round. 

The gin is produced in a 240 litre copper-pot still using seven botanicals to create a robust but perfectly balanced gin with heavy notes of juniper. These flavours were inspired by travels in the Middle East where Persian limes, known as Noomi Basra, are used in a huge range of Middle Eastern cuisines. 
Since the launch in 2016, all three gin varieties have won awards in the International Wine and Spirit Competition, and the distillery now produces around 3,500 bottles each year alongside glassware, miniatures and gift sets. These are sold nationally through the website, at local markets and to bars, restaurants and retailers across the South East of England.
