****Press Release from 6 O'Clock Gin*****
6 O’CLOCK GIN ANNOUNCES NEW PREMIUM RTD WITH CHEF ROMY GILL MBE This Spring, artisanal British gin maker, 6 O’clock Gin is adding an innovative new flavour to its acclaimed ready-to-drink range, in collaboration with chef Romy Gill MBE. Following on from the successful launch of 'Romy's Edition' gin in June 2020, 6 O'clock Gin has teamed up with the celebrated chef once more for the release of a brand-new product – Mango, Ginger & Lime Gin & Tonic RTD (canned cocktail). Packaged in hues of vibrant pink, this well-balanced and deliciously moreish Mango, Ginger & Lime gin and tonic drink is perfectly timed for spring and summer. Inspired by Romy’s memories of summers in India, and using flavours from traditional Indian cooking, the gin is infused with the juice from the native mango and then combined with premium tonic water – striking the perfect balance between rich fruity sweetness and subtle savoury spices. The new canned cocktail joins a growing selection of uniquely flavoured RTDs from 6 O'clock Gin: Exotic Orange, Damson & Ginger, as well as the Light alternative to their classic London Dry gin and tonic. The ready to drink cans are crafted with the same dedication, care and patience as the brand's gin range. They are distilled in small batches, using traditional skills and only the best natural ingredients, creating a bartender-quality drink in the convenience of a can. "I'm really excited to be working with 6 O'clock Gin again on this new product. Canned cocktails are undoubtedly going to be so popular this summer – especially with alfresco socialising beginning even earlier this year. I have worked closely with the team to ensure we created something truly delicious and unique – a refreshing combination of subtle spices, sweet mango and authentic Indian flavours." "With many of us looking to spend our summer holidays closer to home this year, we wanted to whisk people away to experience the flavours and scents of an exotic holiday. Now you can enjoy the perfect Gin & Tonic cocktail at home, on the go or wherever the spirit takes you...” – Romy Gill MBE From summer BBQs and garden meet-ups to park picnics and after-work drinks, this new flavour will make for a delicious and convenient tipple to enjoy in the sunshine. Mango, Ginger & Lime Gin & Tonic will be priced at £2.85 and launched exclusively on the 6 O’clock Gin website www.6oclockgin.com on 10th May alongside the introduction of 5cl and 35cl bottles of ‘Romy’s Edition – Mango, Ginger & Lime’ gin. ABOUT 6 O’CLOCK GIN: The brand’s journey began in the late 1980s, when Edward and Penny Kain looked to diversify their Devon fruit farm. Putting their surplus fruit to good use, they started making, bottling and selling delicious liqueurs before setting up a distilling company, Bramley & Gage. In 2007, Michael and Felicity took over their parents’ now prosperous distillery and moved the business to Bristol. Their father, Edward remained involved in the business as Master Distiller, bringing his experience, skill and precision to the challenge of creating a new artisan gin for the premium spirits market. The name 6 O’clock Gin was inspired by the Kain’s long-held family tradition of indulging in the first G&T of the evening at 6 o’clock; a very British custom, still enjoyed at the distillery and shared by gin-lovers all over the world. Ten years on, the company is thriving, selling its gin across the country and worldwide, with a big focus on the US market. As well as its signature London Dry Gin in its iconic Bristol-blue glass bottle, the brand has expanded its range to include its exquisitely engineered export-strength Brunel gin, as well as two fruit gins, Sloe and Damson. In 2018, 6 O’clock Gin collaborated with another Bristol business, Jekka’s Herb Farm to create the limited edition Jekka’s Edition and most recently, the brand ventured into the ready to drink market, with a London Dry Gin & Tonic alongside a low calorie, low alcohol version. The Thornbury-based distillery itself is still paving the way for new trends within the industry, while staying close to its artisanal roots. As one of the first solar powered and energy neutral gin distilleries in the country, the brand gives back to the grid and implements all kinds of green initiatives, such as bottle refills, compostable disposables and sustainable uses of spent fruit. Playing a big part in Bristol and South West England’s tourism industry, the distillery tours, led by the brand’s experts are a unique draw to the area.
