About Green Room Distillery
|
Green Room' Distillery was set up by Duncan McLean and Seb Frost, two friends who were working in the theatre industry that was so heavily impacted by the lockdown in 2020. Having acquired a copper pot still from a friend in France 3 years earlier, Duncan's design studio was converted into a distillery before launching Green Room Gin in 2021. Green Room Distillery partners with the charity BACKUP, which supports technical professionals in the entertainment industry, with £1 being donated from each bottle sale. |

The Gin Guide Review
Green Room Gin neatly brings together and balances fresh citrus with warm, earthy spice and juniper. Spices such as nutmeg and cloves are typically distilled alongside citrus peels or dried citrus, however fresh citrus is used very effectively in Green Room Gin. In particularly, pink grapefruit and cinnamon combine well, have presence and bridge the brighter citrus notes and deeper spices for a cohesive flavour profile. With Tonic Water the citrus aromas are elevated and the spice gives balance, depth and body when mixed. The balance of classic botanicals, citrus and spice makes for a versatile gin that can also be used to great effect in cocktails such as a Negroni, Gimlet or Bee's Knees. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Meet the Makers
"When the entertainment industry came crashing down in March 2020, we suddenly found ourselves with a lot of time on our hands. We acquired the distilling equipment three years prior, and when lockdown hit, about 2 weeks in we decided it was time to fire up the stills.
What started as a hobby in the kitchen, transferred to Duncan’s design studio, where the servers and cabling were replaced with the stills and piping." - Co-Founder, Duncan McLean |
