Greenwich Spirits Co
Greenwich Gin was launched in 2021 by Gonzalo Ruiz, founder of Greenwich Spirits Co. The gin and its botanicals are inspired by Gonzalo's travels, having lived in 8 different countries and gained 5 nationalities, as well as the great explorers that set sail from Greenwich and used the Greenwich Meridian for navigation.

The Gin Guide Review
Greenwich Maritime London Dry Gin impressively brings together classic, exotic and coastal botanicals with a combination that delivers in flavour and ties in neatly with the gin's branding and inspiration from Greenwich's maritime history and connection with great explorers. Abundant piney juniper is accompanied by fruity, sweet citrus and vanilla-like tonka bean notes, balanced with savoury, subtly coastal hints and pepperiness that builds into the finish and contrasts the top notes. With Tonic Water, the aromas of pine are elevated further and sweet, exotic citrus character takes centre stage with earthy, savoury undertones beneath. It is a flavoursome, characterful and pleasingly interesting gin, with the easily overpowering dulse and kelp botanicals used delicately and skilfully. - Paul Jackson, 2021 |
Meet the Makers
"After a gin-making experience in a London distillery, I found myself isolated at home with a copper still and an alcohol rectification licence. I took advantage of lockdown to develop the recipe for Greenwich Gin from our East London home. This was a fun journey of curiosity and exploration, pairing British marine botanicals with intriguing botanicals from around the world. Having lived in 8 different countries and gaining 5 nationalities, we wanted to share stories of travel and beautiful places, their people, their unique flavours and ingredients." - Founder, Gonz Ruiz
