The Henley Distillery
Opened in 2021, The Henley Distillery is owned and run by Henley-born Master Distiller, Jacob Wilson, and his family. After several years spent working for major UK distilleries, Jacob founded The Henley Distillery in partnership with his father, Alan. Located in a Grade II listed, 18th Century threshing barn on the outskirts of Henley, the distillery's four Portuguese-made 300 litre copper alembic stills are named 'Tony' and 'Mac' in honour of Jacob's grandfathers. Henley Gin - Classic Dry (42% ABV)

  • ​​​Botanicals: 11 including juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, lime leaf, lemongrass, orange peel, cardamom, tonka bean, black pepper, green pepper and Szechuan pepper. Base Spirit: Grain.
  • ​Serving Suggestions: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lime Peel or Orange Peel, or in a Martini or Negroni.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, citrus and hints of aromatic lime leaf and lemongrass. Juniper, citrus, cardamom and creamy tonka notes on the palate. A lift of peppery spice leads into the lingering finish of citrus and pine.​​
The Gin Guide Review: Henley Classic Dry Gin is beautifully constructed, with complexity, cohesion, transitions of flavour, and a hearty traditional core. You can pinpoint each botanical playing its role, from the piney juniper and citrus that is underpinned by cardamom on the palate before a creamy note of tonka and a wave of bright, peppery spice that leads into the finish. It is a definitively classic gin but is still memorable and it has personality, as well as having a very smooth mouthfeel and a pleasingly dry finish. With Tonic Water, the juniper is prominent, spices give body, the citrus is vibrant, and notes of lemongrass and kaffir lime are lifted too, delivering a G&T that is hard to fault. - Paul Jackson, 2022
