Hertfordshire is home to four gin distilleries - Puddingstone Distillery in the west of the county in Tring was the first to launch in Hertfordshire in 2016, followed by Copper in the Clouds Distillery in the east of the county near Ware, Spirit of Hertfordshire Distillery in St Albans, and Black Bridge Distillery on the Luton Hoo Estate on the border with Berkshire. Puddingstone Distillery put Hertfordshire firmly on the gin map in 2021 when it was named 'Distillery of the Year 2021' in The Gin Guide Awards.
