Opihr Gin Review & Tasting Notes
About Opihr Gin
Opihr Gin (pronounced 'o-peer') is an oriental spiced London Dry Gin that was launched in 2013 by Quintessential Brands. The name 'Ophir' relates to King Solomon's legendary and wealthy port that is referred to in the Bible. The gin is produced at G&J Distillers, the major distillery in Warrington responsible for gins such as Greenall's Gin, Bloom Gin and Berkeley Square Gin. Inspired by the ancient Spice Route, Opihr Gin features botanicals including cubeb berries, black pepper, ginger and cardamom. |
The Gin Guide Review
Opihr Gin is warming, well balanced, easy to drink and adds variety to any gin shelf. With it's warm, earthy and exotic spices alongside sweet citrus notes, you'll find that the bottle goes down particularly quickly during Autumn and Winter. It is a rewarding, interesting and great value gin, especially in a G&T or with ginger ale. - Paul Jackson, 2015 |
