Launched in 2021 by IT professional Jurij Petruna, Petriot Gin is inspired by the Slovenian landscape. Their first gin, Petriot Gin Green George, is a London Dry Gin named after a character in Slovenian folklore who dresses in birch leaves and whose arrival signals the start of Spring in the Bela Krajina region.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of classic earthy juniper, soft spice and citrus, with hints of chamomile and rosehips. On the palate, a balance of peppery, earthy spice with citrus and soft chamomile. A finish of peppery cubebs leading into linger citrus peels and cardamom.
Serving Suggestion / Garnish: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, or in a Bee's Knee's or White Lady.
The Gin Guide Review: Petriot Gin is impressively constructed with pleasingly plentiful juniper that delivers an enticing aroma of pine alongside citrus and abundant juniper character on the palate. Peppery cubebs and the deep spice of cardamom add depth and body while rosehips and chamomile bring soft and balancing subtleties. With Tonic Water, the gently floral notes of chamomile emerge further with elevated lemon peel, orange peel and cardamom. It is a gin that has the character and flavour to be enjoyed in simple servings, but also the traditional core and versatility to be used in a wide range of cocktails. A very enjoyable and impressive debut from Petriot Distillery. - Paul Jackson, 2022
