St Giles Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
St Giles Gin was launched in 2017 by Norwich Dry Gin Company after the founder, Simon Melton, was inspired by the gins he tasted while travelling the world as a professional diver. The gin is distilled in-house in Norwich in a German 400L copper still, named Anna after Simon's first daughter. St Giles Gin is named after the historic St Giles area of Norwich where the company was established, as well as referencing the St Giles area of London which was at the heart of the gin craze in the 18th century. |
The Gin Guide Review
St Giles Gin is bold and flavourful, with lemongrass at the forefront and aromas that bring lemon cheesecake to mind. Fragrant lemongrass and hints of pepper excite your nostrils, and the palate is similarly citrus-led, before a finish of sweet, fragrant orange and hints of rose petals. The contrast of smooth fruitiness, elegant and fragrant notes, and a touch of peppery warmth, make for a gin that certainly has character and a distinctive profile. Serve in a G&T with a garnish of orange or orange peel. - Paul Jackson, 2017 |

Meet the Makers
"Our gin was born in Norwich and we wanted a name to reflect that. We have a house in St Giles which is an historic area in Norwich. St Giles Road used to have a Distillery Street that ran off, it so it seemed like the perfect choice. St Giles is also infamous for being the heart of the 1700s gin craze in London." - Alison Melton, Co-Founder
