Wrekin Spirit Distillery
|
Launched in 2020 by founder Isabel and her sister, and located in a building on their farm near Telford in Shropshire, Wrekin Spirit is managed by Isabel's son, Sam. The distillery is home to a 400L copper pot and column still, and cherries, plums and sloes from the farm are used in Wrekin Spirit's liqueurs. A 32-tree orchard has also been planted to provide further fruits. The 'Wrekin Spirit' name is inspired by 'The Wrekin', a 407 metre high hill and landmark in the heart of Shropshire, located close to the distillery.

Meet the Makers
"Isabel and Her sister visited a gin school in late 2017. The distillery was situated in a converted barn, similar to a dilapidated shed that we had on our home farm. The inspiration of that distillery visit along with the desire to diversify the farm led to the idea of building our own distillery. Just over 2 years later, the building work was finished and the distillery was ready for launch." - Sam Moseley, General Manager
