Shropshire, located in the West Midlands and bordering Wales, is historically known as the birthplace of industry and is home to the world's first iron bridge which can be seen across the River Severn. In recent decades Shropshire has become home to a large number of breweries, and despite having no history of distilling it has seen a small number of impressive distilleries being established since 2018, including Henstone Distillery which acheived the global accolade of being named as 'Distillery of the Year' in The Gin Guide Awards in both 2020 and 2023.

There may be additional products named after places in Shropshire or that are based in Shropshire, however, they will not be featured in this guide if our understanding is that they are produced outside of Shropshire.
Shropshire Gin Reviews - A to Z
Henstone Gin

Launched in 2018 and based in Trewern with a shared focus on whisky production, the Henstone Gin range includes their Navy Strength Gin, aged Rosé Gin, and their London Dry Gin. In 2023 they became the first distillery to win the 'Distillery of the Year' Award in The Gin Guide Awards twice, after first winning in 2020.

Ludlow Gin
|
Launched in 2018 by Shaun Ward, the diverse Ludlow Gin range includes their original Ludlow Dry Gin and Navy Strength Gin through to their Earl Grey Gin and Triple Citrus & Pomegranate Gin. In 2023 they opened their new distillery at Ludlow Farm Shop, offering daily Tours and Gin School experiences.

The Shropshire Distillery Gin

Launched in 2018 by husband and wife, Gareth & Emma Glynn, and based at in Ellesmere Gin, The Shropshire Distillery range includes their Dry Gin, Spiced Gin, Navy Strength Gin, Cherry & Pink Peppercorn Gin, and Grapefruit & Hop Gin.

Wrekin Spirit Gin
|
Launched in 2020, Wrekin Spirit is a family business based in Kynnersley near Telford. Their range includes their Signature Gin, Citrus Twist Gin and Rose Herb Gin, as well as flavoured gins liqueurs.
