Fowey Valley Cidery & Distillery
|
After Barrie and Geraldine Gibson had been making their own cider from their 6 apple trees for over 20 years, they launched Fowey Valley Cidery in 2012 from an orchard in Golant, on the banks of the river Fowey in Cornwall. Having since moved into larger premises in Lostwithiel, the couple began producing spirits from their apples, including a Vodka, Eau de Vie, and their Foy Gin which was launched in 2018. The production begins with their own 7% ABV alcohol which is further distilled to produce a 95% ABV Vodka before being distilled in an iStill with 6 botanicals and reduced to 40% ABV for bottling.

Meet the Maker
"I worked with a couple of distilleries over a period of 5 years to learn how to turn our cider into spirits and 3 years ago we bought our first i-still from the makers in Holland. We were keen to make everything from scratch and needed to be able to make our own spirit for the gin." - Barrie Gibson
