For those of you that are familiar with the gin bars of London, you may well be familiar with The Oliver Conquest pub and gin house near Aldgate. With over 300 gins behind the bar there is every reason to go back time and time again. Now there is an even bigger reason. Originally planned as a pop up, the team at The OC launched ‘Aperitivo’ above the main bar area, and you can look forward to this now being a longer term installment.
Aperitivo has a focus on gin cocktails and exclusive gins (with G&Ts served in grand copa classes), including twists on classic cocktails made with gin in place of the traditional spirits, a range of exceptional negronis, and even a ‘build your own negroni’ menu for some experimentation. Every cocktail is cleverly developed and skilfully put together. Also look out for their negroni martini, made from redistilling a negroni. And if that’s not enough for you, the Italian inspired canape-style food is exceptional and worth going for in itself. The team are also endlessly knowledgeable and enthusiastic and on hand to help you make the difficult choice of what to drink when you’re bound to want to order everything.
