Since being a Winner in the The Gin Guide Awards 2021 with our London Dry Gin we have found a steady increase in sales. Most of our success has been through word of mouth and what is mainly encouraging is the degree of resales from stockists. This presents the best proof of a positive impact on consumers.
Most of our competitors have responded to the growing demands for flavoured gin. Two years ago, we accepted the challenge and thus began the journey to find a perfect fit for our company. After conferring with our loyal customers, we finally decided on a subtle blend of elderflower and blueberry. While the blueberry is present in abundance in Wales and has long been a favourite cordial drink, we found that its strong flavour melded well with the delicate floral part of the elderflower tree. So, once again employing the guidance of master distiller Gerard Evans, we set out to produce a beverage that could equal our award-winning London dry gin. The response to this newcomer at the 2023 Caernarfon Food Festival was overwhelmingly positive, and we are proud to have created a drink that meets our exacting standards. The Druids have long considered the elderflower tree as sacred. It is known as the earth mother’s offering to humanity and a conduit to the earth goddess herself. Here on Anglesey, the Druidic connection is still important and we at Afallon Mon value this essential part of the island’s past.
