***PRESS RELEASE***
Last night, some of the world’s best bartenders gathered in London at Aqua Kyoto’s roof terrace to celebrate the global launch of Tanqueray Lovage Aromatic, distinct and herbaceous, Tanqueray Lovage is the latest innovative gin to be added to the award-winning Tanqueray portfolio. Inspired by an original recipe from 1832 by Tanqueray founder Charles Tanqueray, this savoury gin was launched at an event in central London at Aqua Kyoto’s stunning Tanqueray roof terrace with some of the world’s best bartenders in attendance. Created with the help of world renowned drinks maestro and modern-day Charles Tanqueray Jason Crawley, this ground-breaking gin has all the signature botanicals of the bartenders’ favourite gin (Drinks International Brands Report 2018), Tanqueray alongside a savoury twist with the inclusion of the English garden herb, lovage. At last night’s event, Jason Crawley explained how he has been working with Tanqueray in driving innovation with a unique take on savoury style gin: “Developing Lovage directly from Charles Tanqueray’s archives has given the savoury style gin category a totally unique flavour. It’s like nothing else; it’s at once deeply herbaceous, celery-like and earthy, whilst retaining that signature juniper-citrus forward style, with added funk. I think bartenders and gin-lovers all over the world are going to love teasing out a beautiful mix with this.” Tanqueray Lovage adds to the innovative flavour line-up of gins from Tanqueray, including Tanqueray Rangpur as well as the recent Tanqueray Malacca and Tanqueray Sevilla. Tanqueray’s Global Marketing Manager Joanna Segesser said “Innovation is at the heart of everything Tanqueray does. Just like our founder Charles Tanqueray, we love experimenting and working with new botanicals, so it’s a pleasure to see one of Charles’ original recipes being created at a time where savoury cocktails are on the rise. We can’t wait to see how bartenders use Tanqueray Lovage in their cocktail creations!” For those looking to get their hands on a bottle and flex your creative bartender skills, you may need to move fast as only around 100k bottles of Tanqueray Lovage will be released across Europe, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Tanqueray Lovage has an ABV of 47.3% and will retail at £44 for a 1 litre bottle. The Gin Guide may not be held responsible for the content of this Press Release.
