Tanqueray Gin Review & Tasting Notes
About Tanqueray Gin
Tanqueray Gin has a long and fascinating history and is in the top 10 highest selling gins in the world. Charles Tanqueray opened the original distillery in the 1830's in London, before merging with Gordon's to form 'Tanqueray Gordon & Co' and moving to their distillery. The distillery was later destroyed by air raids during WWII and production now takes place at Cameronbridge Distillery near Edinburgh in Scotland, and the brand is owned by Diageo. The recipe (with just 4 botanicals) has been kept a secret and the same recipe has been used since the gin's conception. It is available both at 43.1% ABV in the domestic market, as well as an export strength 47.3% ABV. The Gin Guide Review Tanqueray gin is a classic and popular gin and it embodies everything associated with a London Dry Gin. It's a staple of many gin shelves and back bars, and rightly so. Whilst it is not a complex gin, it makes an excellent crisp and dry Gin and Tonic with juniper at the forefront. In a recent poll of gin drinkers by The Gin Guide, Tanqueray proved to be the most popular of the mainstream gins - read the full results on The Gin Guide blog. - Paul Jackson, 2019 You Might Also Like...
