The Shropshire Distillery
​The Shropshire Distillery was established in 2018 by Gareth and Emma Glynn and is based in Ellesmere in Shropshire. The husband and wife team launched their flagship 'Shire Gin' in July 2018, followed by their Spiced Gin and Cherry & Pink Peppercorn Gin, before moving to a purpose built distillery. At the end of 2021, Gareth and Emma rebranded with new bottles and labels as well as renaming 'Shire' Gin as The Shropshire Distillery Dry Gin, and in 2023 the distillery was moved to a new home in Ellesmere, offering tours and gin making experiences.

The Shropshire Distillery Dry Gin (40% ABV)

  • Botanicals: 9 including juniper, angelica root, coriander seeds, cassia bark, liquorice root, sweet orange peel, grapefruit peel, rose petals. Base Spirit: Grain.​
  • Serving & Garnish Suggestion: Gin & Tonic with a garnish of Lime Peel or Orange, or in a Negroni or Gimlet.
  • Tasting Notes: Aromas of juniper, deep citrus notes and floral rose petals. Classic juniper on the palate with floral rose, sweet orange and zesty grapefruit. A lingering and dry finish with warm, soft spice of cassia and liquorice.​
The Gin Guide Review: The Shropshire Distillery Dry Gin delivers a beautiful balance of juniper, classic gin botanicals, citrus and rose. The hearty and traditional core of pine, earthiness and soft spice is charmingly layered with the more contemporary flavours of floral rose and plentiful citrus. When served on ice the rose petals are elevated and with the addition of Tonic Water the cassia and depth of spice gains more of the spotlight.
