What did you do before launching Savile Row Gin? I am the publisher of Savile Row Style Magazine, working with all of the Savile Row stakeholders and Tailors for many years. I also happen to be a lover of Gin. In 2018, and with the full support and backing of the leading tailors and stakeholders in Savile Row, I launched Savile Row Gin. David Gandy, affectionately known as "Mr Savile Row" is an investor and the brand's global ambassador. What made you decide to create your own gin? I had been inspired by many craft gins and wanted to create something truly bespoke, Savile Row style. Alongside some of the famous name on Savile Row, we discussed and tasted options and agreed on the final branding. Top designer, Micha Weidmann, created for us the needle and gold thread logo and used an old gaudy font reminiscent of the type used historically in Savile Row. Micha wanted to create a logo that symbolised an object used for fine tailoring that is found in every cutting room in Savile Row. What have been the biggest challenges and achievements so far? Tasting the gins and samples on Savile Row, trying to ensure we created something truly bespoke, like all of the suits made on the Row. Our signature botanical, kumquat, is unique and our recipe is bespoke. One of our tasters (whom shall remain nameless) fell asleep under a grand piano during a tasting evening! How would you describe Savile Row Gin in 3 words?
Smooth, elegant, stylish. What's your favourite way to drink your gin? Love a good Negroni! Which gins would you always have on your gin shelf (other than your own of course!)? My other favourite apart from ours of course is Monkey 47 Gin. What's next for Savile Row Gin - any exciting plans? Our flavoured Gin is launching in early Summer. You might also like...
