Production & Distillery Categories
Winners
Production categories are defined by the process and method used to produce a gin, as well as celebrating the highest scoring distilleries overall in The Gin Guide Awards 2021. The Winners, Highly Commended entrants and Geographic High Scorers for each category are defined as follows:
- Winners: Each category has overall Winners. The number of Winners in each category is determined by the number of entries in that category and the number of gins that have exceeded the threshold score to be a Winner in that category. These are the gins that achieved the highest scores across all geographical areas and are able to display the 'Winner' logo, bottle stickers and certificate.
- Highly Commended: Each category has 'Highly Commended' entrants listed. These are the gins that achieved scores within a fine margin of the threshold score to be a Winner and are deserving of a special mention. These gins are able to display the 'Highly Commended' logo.
- Geographic Highest Scorers: These are the gins in each category that achieved the highest score in their respective geographical areas. Geographic Highest Scorers are shown when a minimum number of entries were received from the respective country in a category. Overall geographic Winners are displayed on the International Categories page and receive 'Best In' Awards.
