What did you do before creating SPC Gins? We have an animal health export business. What made you decide to create your gins and what is the inspiration behind them? Our first gin, Bangkok Tuk-Tuk Gin, was inspired by my wife’s father, Chalerm Jarrenpap, in Thailand. He would often make us an alcoholic drink with Thai clear whiskey, lemongrass, mango and soda water. There were a few other ingredients, but it’s a secret family recipe! It was from this drink that we developed our great tasting gin, and hey presto, Bangkok Tuk-Tuk Gin was born. Our second gin ‘The Spirit of Anglesey’ was a homage to our wonderful home on Anglesey with local sweet violet and wild thyme. What have been the biggest challenges and achievements so far? Launching a new gin in a very competitive market has been the biggest challenge, but we expected this. Our biggest achievements include having our very own gin stocked in our favourite gin bar, and promoting our Bangkok Tuk-Tuk Gin with the Tourism Authority of Thailand. How would you describe your gin in 3 words?
Smooth, Delicious, Unique. What's your favourite way to drink your gins? With friends, a favourite mixer and ice! Which gins would you always have on your gin shelf? Monkey 47 Gin, it’s a classic. What's next for SPC Gin - any exciting plans? We are launching new gins and looking to establish our Bangkok Tuk-Tuk brand in Thailand. Watch this space! Also Read:
