Cuckoo Sloedown Gin (39% ABV)

Made with the same base as their Sunshine Gin, Brindle Distillery's Sloedown Gin is a spirit we can certainly vouch for and it features Lancashire sloes, Gaultheria berries, blackberries and honey from their own bees. It's a higher ABV than most Sloe Gins too and it's well worth trying with warmed Ginger Ale.

The Elephant Gin team in Germany have combined their London Dry Gin with fresh sloes, macerated for several months. Elephant Sloe Gin has a comparatively low sugar content and a high ABV, making it ideal for cocktails as well as enjoying neat. And what's more, Elephant Gin donates 15% of bottle profits to elephant conservation foundations!

Green Room Distillery in London use hand-picked fresh sloes and steep them with their Green Room Dry Gin for at least 3 months before adding homemade sugar syrup. The Gower Gin Co in Wales have a wonderful track record of creating flavoursome gins, and their Sloe Gin does not disappoint. They buy sloes from pickers across Gower and South Wales and rest these in their gin for almost 12 months.

The Hartingowe Gin team in Germany hand-pick sloes from the Harz Mountains, which have a particularly fruity and aromatic character. These are then macerated for more than 6 months with Hartingowe London Dry Gin, with hints of spruce, allspice, cloves, gingery calamus root and orange.

Henstone Distillery in Shropshire, who have a wonderful track record of success in The Gin Guide Awards, launched their Sloe Gin this year with a batch of just 223 bottles. Having scoured the hedgerows of Shropshire for sloes, they bottle their Sloe Gin at 40% ABV - the highest we know of!

Jarrold's Limited Edition Sloe Gin (32.2% ABV)

Through using their 48% ABV London Dry Gin, Jarrold's Gin from Chichester in West Sussex deliver a higher ABV Sloe Gin. Their Limited Edition Sloe Gin is dry, rich and intense, featuring hand-picked sloes from the hedgerows of West Sussex.

Pinnock Sloe, Damson & Honey Gin (30% ABV)

Pinnock Distillery in Warwickshire has one of the most wonderful locations, situated at the top of the tower at The Castle at Edgehill. Their Sloe Gin sees locally forages sloes and damsons added to their Dry Gin, which features juniper, cassia, liquorice, orange peel and quince, along with a little extra local honey.

Our first taste of Papillon Gin really impressed us this year and so we're really excited about their Sloe Gin, made with Dartmoor sloes and gently sweetened with Dartmoor heather honey for a balance of tartness and sweetness. This is a Sloe Gin we'll definitely be trying this year!
