The Gael Signature Scottish Gin - Review & Tasting Notes
Launched in 2018 by four friends, all with a passion for music and gin, The Gael Gin is inspired by the famous Scottish fiddle tune 'The Gael'. The tune, for which the music is displayed on the bottle label, was written by Scotsman Dougie MacLean and features on the soundtrack for The Last of the Mohicans. Also calling upon the heritage of Scottish whisky, The Gael Gin features a malted barley base.

The Gin Guide Review
The Gael Gin is characterful and pleasingly distinctive while being rooted in classic gin flavours and Scottish influence. Character from the malted barley base spirit is part of this difference and is softly noticeable on the nose and palate in harmony with notes of heather, citrus and cardamom. Deep citrus peel aromas are enticing on the nose and become brighter with the addition of tonic water, giving balance to the piney juniper and savoury, warming spice notes. The Gael Gin has plentiful depth and points of difference while still staying true to the character of a traditional gin. - Paul Jackson, 2020 |

Meet the Makers
"For our signature gin our aim was 'Scottish'. Using Malted Barley we distil in a bespoke hybrid still five times to achieve a high quality base spirit. Our botanicals including Scottish Heather are added to the base spirit by a combination of compounding and macerating and they blend to give the unique smoothness and flavours.
